This natural acorn cap was dropped by a living tree in North Carolina! Now, it is solid bronze, with a new “nut” made of mookaite jasper (otherwise known in these parts as the best jasper). The original organic matter of the cap is completely replaced with metal during the casting process (which you can about here), leaving behind a unique piece of nature now permanently preserved.
