These were once real acorn caps, dropped by living trees! Now, each one is solid bronze, with nuts replaced by pieces of genuine larimar from the Dominican Republic. The original organic matter of the caps is completely replaced with metal during the casting process (learn about that here), leaving behind a perfect replica in metal and stone.
